	Biological Safety - Recombinant DNA
	Compliance with the NIH Guidelines for Research Involving Recombinant DNA Molecules (NIH Guidelines) is mandatory for every institution that receives NIH funding for rDNA research. Principal Investigators are responsible for registering with the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) all experiments involving recombinant DNA (rDNA). The UM IBC meets monthly on the first Thursday of the month. Registrations must be submitted by the 20th of the month to be considered at the following month's meeting. Registration is available online.	Compliance with the NIH Guidelines is mandatory for every institution that receives NIH funding for rDNA research.
