Renovation/Moving

As of Tuesday August 12, 2008 most of Environmental Safety is in the Chesapeake Building. The Administrative Office, Occupational Safety, Biological Safety Office, Fire Marshal's Office, Risk Management & Communication and Sustainability are all located on the 3rd floor of the Chesapeake Building. The Radiation Safety Office is now located on the 2nd floor of the Chesapeake Building.

Safety Orientation for Graduate & Teaching Assistants & Faculty Training

You may now register for Safety Orientation for Graduate & Teaching Assistants & Faculty Training that is scheduled for Thursday, August 28, 2008 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Chemistry Room 1407. This training provides a general laboratory safety orientation training for Teaching Assistants. This course is designed to make TAs aware of key environmental, health and safety considerations while working in UM laboratories and provide them guidance on where to seek additional information as needed.

UM Chemical Information Database

The Chemical Facilities Anti-Terrorism Standards require laboratory managers or designated responsible individuals to identify chemical materials that could be used for terrorism purposes. The UM Chemical Information Database must be completed by Jan 25, 2008 for all laboratories and laboratory support areas on campus.
